Visiting the site
When you visit this site, your browser transmits some technical data to the web server, as with any website: IP address, time, the requested address, and browser and operating system. Our hosting provider Cloudflare, Inc. stores this data briefly in log files to deliver the site and to detect faults and attacks. We do not analyze it and do not combine it with other data. The provider is based in the USA; the transfer is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
No cookies, no tracking
We use no cookies, no analytics tools, no advertising networks and no embedded third-party content. Fonts, images and stylesheets are loaded from our own domain.
Links to the App Store
Links to the App Store lead to Apple. Apple's privacy terms apply only once you click.
3. Our apps
Each app has its own section here.
Letter Manager (Brief Manager)
Your content
Letters, addresses, signature, logo, attachments and scans are stored exclusively on your device. We have no access to them.
Permissions
- Contacts: to copy addresses into a letter.
- Camera: for photos and scans (logo, attachment, text recognition).
- Photos: to import images as a logo or attachment.
The app asks for each permission only when needed. The data is processed on the device and is not transmitted to us. You can revoke any permission in your device's settings.
Purchases
Purchases are handled through Apple's App Store. We do not receive payment data. To check whether the full version is unlocked, the app uses a purchase management service provider based in the USA. This transmits a random, anonymous user identifier, details of the purchase (product, time, receipt from Apple) and technical data such as device type, operating system and app version, and the IP address. Names, email addresses and the content of your letters are not included. The legal basis is the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
No analytics, no advertising
The app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs. We receive crash reports only in anonymized form from Apple, and only if you have agreed to this on your device.
Releases for Xcode
The app needs no account and has no analytics, advertising or purchases. It does not process names, email addresses or location data.
Version list
The app loads the list of Xcode versions from our server at Google Cloud (data center in Frankfurt am Main). For technical reasons your IP address is transmitted; the app sends no identifier. Our server stores no user or device data. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing the app's function (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Version details come from the public data set of xcodereleases.com. Our server retrieves it, not your device.
Registration with the notification service
To deliver push notifications, the app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging. At launch the app registers there, even if you have not turned on notifications. Google receives a randomly generated installation identifier, a push token for your device, technical data such as app identifier, app and system version, and your IP address. These are pseudonymous identifiers that we do not link to you. Without this registration, notifications you turn on could not be delivered. The legal basis is Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Notifications
You receive notifications only if you turn them on in the app and agree to the iOS notification prompt. Your choice (“Releases” and/or “Betas”) is stored at Google as a topic subscription for your push token. We ourselves do not learn which devices subscribed to a topic. Notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging and the Apple Push Notification Service. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time by turning off notifications in the app or in your device's settings; the lawfulness of processing carried out until then is not affected.
Google as processor
The server and the notification service are operated for us by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). It cannot be ruled out that data is also transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so an adequacy decision of the EU Commission exists for the USA (Art. 45 GDPR). Google keeps the push token and installation identifier while the app is installed; after the app is deleted they expire at Google after a few months of non-use at the latest. Details are in Google's privacy information on Firebase.
Release notes
When you open the release notes of a version, the app loads the page directly from Apple's website (developer.apple.com) in an embedded view. Apple receives your IP address and technical data, as when visiting in a browser, and may set cookies. Apple is responsible for this request; Apple's privacy terms apply. The legal basis for embedding is our legitimate interest in showing you the release notes without switching to the browser (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
On your device
On the device the app stores only your settings (selected notifications) and a cache of the version list. There is no sync via iCloud. Deleting the app removes this data.
No analytics, no advertising
The app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs; Firebase's analytics feature is not included. We receive crash reports only in anonymized form from Apple, and only if you have agreed to this on your device.
4. Contact by email
When you write to us, we process your email address and the content of your message to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We keep the correspondence for up to 12 months after your request is resolved so that we can place later follow-up questions. On request we delete your messages at any time. Our mailbox is operated by STRATO AG, Berlin.
5. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to processing based on legitimate interest. An email to the address above is enough. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
6. Changes
We update this policy when the website or the apps change. The version published here applies.
